Sunset lake panorama

This image really stood out in my message centre and I couldn't resist clicking for a better look. There's a strong feeling of travelling from day to night, left to right, here which makes it more than just a capture of a moment - it makes it a capture of a process, of time passing.

The colours are stunning, so rich and vibrant! I love how the bright oranges and pinks in the clouds are reflected in the ripples of the water because it ties the elements of the image together beautifully.

As much as I like long exposure shots of scenes like this with smooth glass-like water, I think this definitely works better with the texture of the water being so pronounced. It's makes for a gorgeous contrast with the smoothness of the sky and the silhouette of the land acts as a boundary between the two while still maintaining cohesion.
